Frank (2014)
When it comes to strange elements, like the character of Frank wearing an enormous comic-style head the entire film, that are not diegeticly questioned, I am instantly keen on watching it. Although it is "just" an head, it is a constant reminder of how a film can create an alternated universum - where it is normal for people wearing giant heads.
Since I watched the first episode of The Raid 2 I was blown away by every single choreographer. The perfectly performed fights and the untracable lack of character made this movie extraordinary. I am stoked for Berandal!
After I "accidentally" followed James Franco on Facebook I was confronted with an overwhelming input of visual delicacies; nude paintings of Seth Rogen, numerous selfies and of course self-promotion. Since I only know Franco's appearences in Pineapple Express, This is the End and Your Highness, I am curious how he fits into a drama.
Silicon Valley (2014)
I read a very interesting and promising article on creativeplanetnetwork the other day. It was more about the some technical aspects (lightning and sound-recording) but while reading, I said to myself: Not quite original plot.... but it hasn't been done before?! Also I really enjoyed Zach Woods in The Office. Nevertheless, I hope that Silicon Valley does not fall into that generic-geeky-comedy-blackhole like Big Bang Theory and manages to create its own humor.
