much respect for many artists creating astonishingly well elaborated continuity, sound and visual design and even found the time for a narrative!
If you are interested in exploring new short films, I'd recommend shortoftheweek. They put a lot of work into finding new pieces, do detailed researches and you can browse through various genres as well.
Today I watched "The Risk not Taken" by Alex Glawion, his graduation work for Freie Hochschule für Grafikdesign und Bildende Kunst school in Freiburg, Germany. This 7 and a half minute piece seemed for me to visually combine Minecraft and Lord of the Rings, but with less Orcs and more pointing towards the difficulties of deciding in everyday life. Despite Glawion creates a total different world, inhabited by alien-like people, they seem to have to deal with very human problems as well.
Technically I really enjoyed the various lense flares and the smart and not too intrusive use. The rendered graphics captivate in their details and the playful dealings with blur.
Two wonderful POV-shots drag you into the protagonists mind, regardless of the mentioned alienness.
